Iryna’s Visit with Valentyna V.

Valentyna has been participating in our program since 1999. She has a lot of memories. Our meeting was full of memories and God’s glory!

Valentyna was born in 1941. Throughout her life, she had to go through a lot—she endured challenges but also experienced many happy moments. Valentyna married and gave birth to her daughter. Her life took its course and one day Valentyna became a widow.

Currently, she lives alone. She has a granddaughter and two great-granddaughters. They also live in Kyiv, but on the other side of a city. They rarely visit their grandmother. As Valentyna said, “We all have our own lives.”

As I listened to Valentyna I realized she has a strong character! She got into an accident and spent some time wearing a plaster cast, but she didn’t give up. She did some physical training and tried to move more. Unfortunately, her old diagnosis – rickets and problems with the musculoskeletal system significantly lowered her quality of life. That’s why she can’t participate in MMK programs.

Valentyna’s testimony filled my heart with gladness. She told me that when she learned about MMK and started to come to St. Paul’s Church, she learned that God is alive!

Since that time, she has been reading the Bible consistently. She turns to God and prays when she faces difficulties. Valentyna lives with God and praises Him!

When I visited her, we read together, discussed the Scripture, shared our thoughts, and drank tea.

I can’t say that Valentyna feels very healthy, but she doesn’t complain. In fact, she demonstrated her tilts and stretching, teaching me exercises I should do for my spine.

Valentyna is grateful for all the support that she has been receiving from MMK for all these years! At the end of our meeting, we prayed for each other and for MMK—for all people who care about these widows! She invited me to come again and told me that such meetings are like a soothing balm on her heart! Praise the Lord that we can support people not only with words, but also with deeds!
