Tatiana K. Joins Our Widow’s Program
Please join us in welcoming Tatiana K. into our widow’s program.
She was born in China, where her parents worked in railroad construction. There were five siblings in her family. When conflict between China and the USSR got worse, their family moved to the Soviet Union (in Kazakstan, a deserted area). Tatiana recalls, “The house we received had no floor. The conditions were very poor.” She began to have a severe nasal infection that was not treated properly. Tatiana went through multiple surgeries that ultimately caused epilepsy.
After six years of living in Kazakhstan, her family moved to Russia. Shortly after moving, Tatiana’s father died, and her mother raised the kids herself. Tatiana continued to suffer from epileptic attacks. Since they lived in a small town, Tatiana was also teased and bullied by other kids.
In 1975, Tatiana came to Kyiv for a sightseeing tour. A big and famous hospital in Kyiv just opened a new department that studied rare cases of epilepsy. They invited Tatiana to be treated there. Later she found a job in construction, where she worked for many years.
Shortly after she got married, she and her husband had a boy. When their son was three years old, Tatiana divorced her husband because he drank heavily. Tatiana was a single mother, but she stayed in a good relationship with her mother-in-law. 12 years ago, her ex-husband died.
In 1994, her epileptic attacks were so strong that her legs stopped functioning. Tatiana’s friend invited her to the Transformation Church. This is where she accepted Christ. A couple of years later, she forgot about her epilepsy—God healed her!
We are thrilled Tatiana is joining our program, and we believe she will become a valuable asset serving our widows with her faith and powerful testimony. Thank you for supporting widows like Tatiana. Your donations bring the hope of Christ to Ukraine.
