IDP Bible Group in Puscha
We had a Bible discussion meeting with IDPs (Internally Displaced People) from Donbas and Crimea last month. Together we read verses from John 1:19-24 as the topic for discussion was repentance. We concluded that people had to repent and get ready for the “new wine.” They had to become the “new wine” bottles before hearing the good news about the coming of Messiah. In Mathew 3, we learned about the Pharisees and Sadducees who came to John to confess their sins, but they were not sincere. John was the “voice of one calling in the wilderness” urging people to repent. The Holy Spirit challenges us to repent today before we can become the “voice” calling people to mend their ways.
The discussion also revolved around the moral problem of why Christians zealously opposed same-sex families but were not as critical of the country’s corruption and other social issues. We concluded that each believer should be salt and light in their own neighborhood.
We were happy to see more people coming to the discussion meeting. This time new participants from Donbas, including a widow and her daughter, joined our group.
