Oksana visits military widow Olena

Olena has participated in our group recently. She doesn’t miss any Bible lesson.

Olena is closed and not talkative. She doesn’t trust people and she doesn’t have a desire to share her problems with others. It feels like she has a pain in her heart and constant sadness in her eyes. She seeks for answers and comfort in God’s Word.

Olena’s husband defended Ukraine in Donbass for three years. In 2014 he received a summons to the army and went to serve. He served until 2017. All this time, Olena went to the Orthodox Church and lit candles (which is one of the spiritual rituals of the Orthodox Church) for her husband’s health and life. She prayed to God to save her husband’s life.

Her husband came back home. A year later he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Unfortunately, this happens to so many soldiers and volunteers who are at the front. Expensive treatment didn’t help.

After her husband's death, she was left alone, without kids. Olena rents an apartment and it’s difficult for her to afford it.

Would you pray for Olena? May God bless her in her spiritual search, so she can find His truth and comfort. May God heal her spiritual wounds and bring her hope and a future.
