Report on Trauma Healing Group

First Trauma Healing Group Meeting.jpg

We recently had our first, long-awaited meeting of the Trauma Healing Group since the quarantine. Everyone was so glad to be together! For two hours, we had great heart-to-heart discussions, studied the Bible, prayed, and had tea and cookies.

It was obvious these people needed this fellowship. We asked two questions:

  1. How did you spend quarantine?

  2. How has the knowledge you received during our meetings helped you go through trials?

As Irina and Oksana listened, their hearts rejoiced because they understood that our lessons were not in vain.

Natalia M. told us that she found an old friend online. They sang together in the KSOC before, but now he lives in Irkutsk. It’s so great they’ve been able to reconnect on Skype now. He went through a tragedy recently. His son, 20 years old, died from the coronavirus. She spoke to him about God and His comfort. At first her friend was very angry, but they communicate often and his reaction eventually changed. He even started to read the Bible.

Valentina told us that fear crawled into her heart at first, but reading the Bible and our lessons have helped—learning to only trust in God.

Katerina U. told us that she was frightened at first, but recalled our meetings and prayed, prayed, prayed. She brought all her worries to Christ, like she was taught in our lessons.

Tatiana K. was very optimistic, but her joints started to hurt. She walked a lot in the park and glorified the Lord.

Irina and Oksana asked the widows in the Trauma Healing Group if any of them felt called to start their own trauma healing group in the future. Not only have these widows received spiritual healing from Irina and Oksana, but they have also been trained and equipped to heal others. We have 455 widows in our program, and so many of them are in need of psychological trauma healing.

The widows are looking forward to more meetings. This group is a great support for them. Glory to God for opportunity to serve people with love in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
