Visit with Biveinis S.

We did not plan to see this man, nor did we know about his existence. But God knows all people and He guides our ways!

After our Bible lesson at Design of Christ Church, a woman approached us asking if we could help a disabled man she was taking care of. The first thing that came to Ira’s mind was that we had to visit him. As it turned out, he lived next door to the Church so we went to his place.

Sergei was born on November 19, 1963. He’ll soon turn 58. Since is stoke (eight years ago), he has been bedridden. Irina, the woman who takes care of him, began to apologize for the awful mess in the apartment. She explained that she had met Sergei at the Christian Rehab Center. Ira has already written about Irina and how she’s recently started attending our Bible lessons. After one of them, she came up to Ira and said that she wanted to repent of her sins and be reconciled to God! Ira didn't know she had been in a rehab before. Now she and Sergei rent a cheap apartment and want to build a new life together.

Ira talked to Sergei about the mercy and love of God, and we prayed together! Then Ira wondered about the state of his legs and arms. As a professional masseur, Ira noticed that they were quite mobile. The amazing thing was that he could move his legs and arms as well as sit on the bed. So, I gave him recommendations, saying that if he followed them, he could soon go outside with a cane, not in a wheelchair. He happily agreed to do as he was told! Ira promised to come in a month and check in again. Ira also talked to Irina asking her what else we could do to help. She promised to tidy up the apartment! Ira’s reminder to us was, “God's ways are not our ways! The most important thing is that we listen to His voice!”
